The oil from mopping up the floor and the oil collected
through our ventilation / mist elimination system is combined
with the oil that is recovered from our puck making machine
and sent through our custom centrifuge for purification.
The centrifuge works the same way that the cyclone
does for air cleaning on our polishing system. A finely perforated
bowl spins extremely fast, and the dirty oil is poured into
the bowl while it spins. The oils only way out of the bowl
is through the incredibly small holes in the wall. Any particles
or dirt or metal that are mixed into the oil get stuck in
the bowl and the oil leaks though into a trapping system.
The oil makes many passes through the centrifuge before it
is ready to go into our final filtration system.
The filtration system is a series of extremely
fine oil filters that all of the oil gets pumped through before
we put it back into a machine to make more parts. Our centrifuge
has paid for itself many times over in all of the oil that
we don't have to buy any more. Environmental consciousness
can definitely save money, this is a great example.
