In the June 2006 issue, Mountain Bike magazine featured a review of Chris King hubs that read, "With basic tools the average Joe can easily take this hub apart. Maintenance and reassembly is just as simple." Offered in aluminum and stainless steel, individual driveshells are available separately or as complete assemblies for repair, replacement, or reconfiguration of your current hub.

Aluminum and stainless driveshells are interchangeable in all Chris King rear hubs (excluding Single Speed and BMX) and are compatible with all 8,9, and 10-speed Shimano-type spline cassettes.

Aluminum driveshells are light yet very capable of handling the needs of nearly all types of road or off-road riding.

Stainless steel driveshells are recommended for high load applications such as freeriding, trials, tandems, loaded touring. The stainless steel driveshell is also recommended when using separate, individual cog gear clusters.
